Talia Prilutsky

Talia Prilutsky is the Founding Director and teacher of the Art Studio Artishock. Talia has been involved in a
progressive approach to children’s art education throughout her experience of studying, creating and teaching art
programs for children.

While Talia is part of professional venue such as group art exhibitions, solo Art Show or charity art fair where
she presenting her work – her painting style can be categorized, as “figurative” though not overly concerned with
realism. Her creations rather evoke to a deep unconscious level of each individual rather speak directly. All
paintings contain the ideas that in many cases are reflecting her identity. Colors are used as a narrative emotional
and expressionistic tool sometime with little correlation to reality. Some pieces are created as individual piece,
however many are part of the specific series that united by the theme.

Talia is a practicing artist who brings her love for children and for creative expression into his studio
curriculum and classes.

Currently Talia runs the ART STUDIO ARTISHOCK, which she founded in 2007 in Wheeling, IL. She is a member of
American Jewish Artists Club since 2014 and often participates group exhibitions. Talia lives in Wheeling IL with
her husband and 2 daughters.

Update 2023: Mrs. Talia is currently enrolled to receive MA.Ed in Special Education from National Louis University,
Chicago IL.

My philosophy

The work of an Art Teacher is a unique combination of directing, watching, coaching, guiding, and waiting. The most
valuable lesson that the art student can learn is to pursue his or her own art.

As a teacher, I want my students to be able to create their unique art works and develop their own ideas, while
obtaining the material skills that would be necessary to execute them. Desire to learn and curiosity, combined with
a critical awareness of the context, enables students to engage in continuous exploration of their world. I attempt
to create a challenging but supportive atmosphere in class. My teaching method combines encouragement of examination
with providing students the conceptual and technical tools they will need to produce, understand, and improve their
own work.
